Kathryn Moynihan
Katie is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a diverse nursing background in medical-surgical care, mother-baby nursing, and perioperative services; including pre-admission testing, pre-operative care, and infusion therapy. While gaining experience across these settings, she knew early in nursing school that she would ultimately specialize in psychiatric care, driven by a strong interest in mental health and patient-centered support.
Her experience across a range of medical environments has shaped a holistic approach to mental health care and reinforced the close connection between physical and emotional well-being. She provides evidence-based psychiatric care with an emphasis on compassionate, non-judgmental treatment, prioritizing safety, transparency, and individualized care. She strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment decisions.
She also enjoys precepting and mentoring students and is actively involved in supporting learners as they develop clinical skills and confidence in psychiatric practice.
